Using the project portfolio template
The project portfolio template (example here) is specifically designed for the situated research project framework you learn in ENVS; make sure you understand this approach first. It includes all major elements of a completed situated project, but you may use it for an in-progress project as well; simply invite the reader to return for more details later in blocks you can’t fully complete at present.
Here are some considerations for use, organized by each of the six template blocks:
- Splash block. This gives basic information on the project, summarizes content to follow via your thesis statement, and entices the viewer to read on.
- Background block. This is the top of your hourglass, moving from your framing question to the situated context in which you explore this broad question. Note that all citations in this section will be included in your list of references at bottom.
- Research block. This is the middle of your hourglass, presenting your focus question and your methods, procedure, and results. Feel free to methodological references, and result tables and charts, as helpful.
- Implications block. This is the bottom of your hourglass, generalizing from your situated context and considering a variety of implications.
- References block. All references cited above should be embedded via Zotpress shortcode. If you would like to display multiple Zotero bibliographies separately, feel free to do so via links above.
- Posts block. The posts block assumes you have one project posts category, which you’ll select in the block widget. If you would like to display multiple project subcategories separately, feel free to do so via links above. If you would like to display posts from multiple sites (i.e., for a team project), substitute the Feedzy RSS Feeds widget and enter feed URLs for all team members.
