Time For a Timeline

As the semester is entering its final third, it is time to reflect on what I have accomplished so far and what else I will need to do for the rest of the semester. So far, I feel that I have a framing question and a solid base of research that forms the basis for my background. I also have settled on a situated context, focus question, and methods to begin data collection. However, it feels like there is so much more I have yet to accomplish. The following is a timeline for the rest of the semester with goals to achieve by every Wednesday class:

Nov. 15th

  • Settle on capstone outcome
  • Collect data for discourse analysis

Nov. 22nd

  • Conduct discourse analysis

Nov. 29th

  • Collect data for statistical analysis
  • Consider other
  • Outline/draft 5-page paper/proposal

Dec. 6th

  • Madlib #3
  • Conduct statistical analysis
  • Outline/draft poster

Dec. 13th

  • 5-page paper/proposal and poster due

The above are all goals and accomplishing these will set me on a great track for next semester. Realistically, however, it will be difficult to achieve all of the above in this timely manner. Especially as final projects for other classes come up and demand much of my time the rest of the semester, it will be difficult to prioritize capstone work. Yet, having this timeline will be helpful in order to stay on top of all the tasks I have left. And if I don’t accomplish everything I set out to do before the end of the semester, I will be able to do some work over winter break and hopefully accomplish all of the above and more by the start of spring semester.
