My current interests stem from the broad topic of alternative energy policy in the United States. In particular, I am intrigued by the role that objectivity plays in Federal science agencies.
This topic addresses ideas that sprawl across multiple disciplines and includes theories from the fields of hard sciences, engineering, science communication, environmental theory, political science, and social science. The following list of resources attempts to draw on all of these disciplines in order to provide me with a deep, but still broad, understanding of my topic.
Although I am attempting to gain a general understanding of many issues at play, I have further narrowed my scope of research to focus on hydroelectric power. Specifically I am looking at the decision to deconstruct four hydroelectric dams along the Klamath River that flows from Oregon to California. Therefore, some of these resources pertain to the Klamath basin and the ongoing negotiations between more than forty parties on the decommissioning of these power sources.
This list shows works that I referenced in my final thesis as well as resources that I did not directly reference but that influenced my work.
