Below are links to archives for two former ds.lclark.edu sites illustrating Lewis & Clark’s rich history of digital scholarship. Each archived site includes a screencast preserving dynamic functionality, and static websites preserving most content. There are two forms of static website for each: the externally hosted archive.org version ensures site longevity, while the static HTML version hosted by Lewis & Clark may load more quickly and preserves simple map content.
Important note: not all site functionalities (e.g., dynamic maps) are available on the archived websites. We have preserved as much as was possible outside of the original WordPress environment. For a sense of how the original sites worked, please see the screencasts.
SGE: Situating the Global Environment
Situating the Global Environment was an Andrew Mellon Foundation-sponsored interdisciplinary student scholarship initiative pursued by Lewis & Clark’s Environmental Studies Program from 2011 to 2014. The SGE site has been archived on both archive.org and static HTML versions. Below is a screencast.
DFS: Digital Field Scholarship
The 2012-13 Digital Field Scholarship initiative, sponsored by the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education and led by Lewis & Clark College, involved institutions of higher education across the country collaborating on field-based student digital scholarship applications. The DFS site has also been archived on both archive.org and static HTML versions. The DFS screencast is below.
