The digital field scholarship initiative, sponsored by NITLE and overseen by Lewis & Clark with significant support via Watzek Digital Initiatives, brought together students from across the country to collaborate on scholarly projects for which the field was an important dimension. The site shared the work at Lewis & Clark, Davidson College, Muhlenberg College, and Reed College. It was an early and highly successful pilot of using field geolocation, and thus maps, as a common thread running through a variety of student-based scholarship. DFS also offered Lewis & Clark students an opportunity to showcase their work to a national audience at the concluding webinar.
