From 2016-2019 I shared over 80 posts on a variety of topics: environmental theory, interdisciplinarity, digital scholarship, many more; as well as some, in true situated fashion, inspired by places: biking in Ireland, discussing the Malheur occupation with students, Douglas County, my beloved, fraught home. I shared posts in part to model the digital scholarship work I encouraged students to do back then. My posts eventually ceased due to medical issues, a lack of institutional support, and a desire to put writing energies elsewhere; but they do preserve a moment in my intellectual development worth remembering. Now as I write this in the mid-2020s, with everyone important posting on Substack, the desire for medium-form public digital scholarship—as I used to tell my students, somewhere between a tweet and a term paper—remains, and so presumably does the need for college students to cultivate these skills.
