One of the most important experiences among undergraduates at Lewis & Clark is their participation in an overseas program, for which writing plays a significant role. In 2014 the Overseas and Off-Campus Programs office and the ENVS Program collaborated in designing, administering, and training users for a new site to share and showcase the written experiences of students from overseas programs. The site was designed to support student posts and projects, and to gather these posts and projects onto program pages (also with a map of geotagged posts and image or Instagram slider) and student summary pages. These resources dynamically interacted with each other via a relational CPT (custom post type) backend structure. Overall, Lewis & Clark Around the World supported approximately 50 overseas programs and over 700 student posts during its existence.
