My Freshman Fifteen

April 18, 2016 By Rebecca Robbins

In no particular order, here’s a list of fifteen things I’ve gained since my freshman year. Some of these topics are related to environmental studies and some are just Lewis & Clark in general. You overcome a lot in college and in your major as well. Even the stuff that was hard at the time, I now appreciate immensely. Enjoy!

  1. I no longer get lost in the library
  2. I understand what an hourglass is in an environmental studies concept
  3. I survived the process of getting my concentration approved
  4. I’ve mastered Zotero
  5. I’ve made a website on WordPress and retired my SGE days
  6. “Want to Bon with me?” is no longer a weird sentence
  7. Based on the amount of time I’ve spent in Jim’s office hours, he could be considered one of my BFFs
  8. I survived environmental econ and actually liked it
  9. I’ve taken a class with all three environmental department professors (Jim Proctor, Liz Safran, Jessica Kleiss)
  10. GIS has “barfed on me”
  11. I witnessed Beagle Bailey (Jim’s dog RIP) peeing in the Dubach Mac lab
  12. Everything is now a “Big Word”
  13. I’ve made an ENVS poster and presented it at a poster session
  14. I’ve had a class outside when the weather is nice
  15. I’ve gone on a field trip every year for one of my classes

Bonus: My inbox has been flooded by Jim overnight but luckily I was on the ark and I survived.
