How to start a project…

November 12, 2015 By Tasha Addington-Ferris

What is the first step of creating a situated project?? Starting our project for the rest of this semester starts with two important steps.  The framing and focus questions are important directors of how to design the rest of our project.  Without these questions, our direction is unfocused and unorganized.

Framing Question: Should microclimate equity be addressed in urban design?

Focus Question: Are urban gardens and permeable surface options available and successful in lowering the temperature of cities?

Where is the project situated?  While the framing question is meant to be applicable in any part of the world, we will be situating our project in Portland, Oregon.
