After an incredibly long airplane journey that started in Wyoming and ended in Madrid plus a short train ride, I have finally made it to Seville! At the moment most of us are just beginning to settle in with our host families. My host mom and dad are both originally from Seville and have three elementary aged kids. They have been super welcoming and helpful with my transition here! The kids are adorable and watching Spanish cartoons with them has been a blast (as well as a great learning opportunity).
I live about 30 minutes away from the center and get to walk by the Plaza de España everyday. It’s pretty magnificent. My friends and I have been exploring the different neighborhoods in the city and visiting a lot of unique, tapas restaurants. I’ve also been gorging myself on chocolate croissants, churros and coffee with milk!
This weekend I am off to Berlin, Germany to attend a Gross National Happiness conference! Wild, I know, but I am really excited to attend the sessions and to explore Berlin!
