Hello everyone! It´s been three weeks in Spain now, and in the first week before we arrived in Sevilla, we were in Madrid exploring the city and various museums. We also took a day trip to Segovia and Toledo. Segovia has a legendary aqueduct that spans the entire city. I wanted to share with you all the legend of the aqueduct (as I remember it) that our tour guide told us when we arrived in Segovia .
Apparently once there was a beautiful woman, and she lived in Segovia and she was pretty dern tired of having to fetch water every day.´She just wanted it to come to her. So she met with the devil, and she promised her soul for the construction of the aqueduct. Then before the very last stone could be laid, she essentially said something along the lines of ¨Wait, I don´t want to do this.¨ So Hercules or some other strong, masculine figure stopped the devil before he could lay the very last stone, not fullfilling his wish, and the pretty lady got to keep her soul. Thus the aqueduct is also known as the ¨Puente de Diablo¨or ¨Bridge of the devil¨. It´s also said that the visible holes on the stones are from the devil´s fingers.
Built at the beginning of the 1st century, it´s considered one of the Roman´s strongest works. Quite beautiful.

Pretty neat, eh?
