In preparation for traveling to India, there are many precautions I must take, including vaccinations for a number of different things. Currently (4/6/15), I am taking the oral typhoid vaccination and have been experiencing some pretty shitty side-effects (which I should have inquired about before committing to this form of vaccine). According to my google search the “less serious” side effects of this vaccination are low fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, or a mild skin rash. I’ve been experiencing the nausea and stomach pain, which are blindingly unpleasant. When the stomach pain comes, I can neither think nor move. It’s awesome! Luckily there are only two more days of this treatment, and hopefully I will be rid of these symptoms once it’s over. Even though I’ve never had Typhoid fever, I will say that I think I much prefer my symptoms, as unpleasant as they are, over those of Typhoid.
