The Globe is an extremely famous theater associated with William Shakespeare. The original Globe was built in 1599, and was destroyed by a fire in 1613. The Globe that people visit today opened in 1997. When I visited London three years ago, I was lucky enough to see The Taming of the Shrew. The show was put on by an all-female cast, and was thoroughly entertaining. Being in The Globe’s atmosphere made it a truly memorable experience. I felt like I was in a truly historical space, despite the venue’s multiple reconstructions. I took the photo posted below during the show.
