During this past week, our group travelled to Beijing. It was an amazing trip, as we got to see some of the major historical, cultural, and political sites. We saw Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, Peking University, the Summer Palace, and other famous attractions. Perhaps one of the most memorable visits was our trip to the Great Wall. I have wanted to climb the great wall since I was 8 years old, so getting to finally do it was truly special.
When we arrived at the Great Wall, I realized was just how long and steep it actually was. It covers over 5,500 miles!! Climbing the wall was a challenge because of the snow. It was freezing and really slippery, so we only climbed a little part of the way. Despite the fact that we did not stay for very long, I felt so blessed to be there and could feel the 2,220 years of history in every step I took.
