To me, cities are like people – you can tell pretty immediately if you’re going to get along. London has been one of those friends you’ll say hi to and maybe sit down to lunch with when you happen to run into them. They’re nice enough. They have plenty to offer but you’ve never felt particularly attached to them. There have been few times, however, in which I have gone to a city and fallen completely in love with it. I was lucky enough to have that experience on our trip to Bath. I stepped off the bus in Bath and knew that was somewhere I wanted to stay. I wandered around with eyes wide, just trying to take in all the fresh air, unique architecture, and unique shops. By the end of the day, I had made plans to return after the program is over that I can share my excitement with my mom when she comes to visit. If Bath were a person, I could spend all day every day with them and never get tired of them. Finding a place you connect with so quickly is such a wonderful feeling, I’m glad (even if it wasn’t our primary location) I got to experience that while on this trip.
