Studying abroad so far has been challenging, exciting, and full of new experiences. Last weekend I traveled outside of the U.K. to Ireland and got to see Lewis & Clark students studying abroad there, and experience a culture completely different to that of England. Going to pubs and chatting with LC students in a foreign country was a great experience. Comparing and contrasting our different programs run by the same international institution made me further appreciate the opportunity to be in London, and it was comforting to see familiar faces in a place that felt so detached and different from Portland. Coming back from the weekend trip has motivated me to explore more parts of London, become closer with the new friends I’ve been making on my program, and to fully take advantage of the opportunities I have at my internship with the Crossroads Women’s Centre.
