I am really excited to go to Sydney. As cliché as it sounds, I used to watch the Australian kids TV shows; a favorite of mine was Dance Academy which is set in Sydney with the Opera House as the backdrop and the main location for shooting the performance scenes. I’ve always wanted to go and visit and explore the city. I’m also excited to go to the Great Barrier Reef. I’ve wanted to scuba dive there since I was in 4th grade, and finally 11 years later I’ll get to go see it!- I’m excited to do the homestay, if not also nervous about it. I’ve never done a home stay, but it will be a great experience and a cool opportunity to have an “in” to the culture directly through a family.
- Lastly, as dumb as this sounds, seeing as we’re a biology focus trip, traveling with the world’s leading archeologist, I’m nervous about the spiders. I can handle them in a lab setting, and even in the field under the lens of field research. However, I am not ready to have giant huntsman inside near my sleeping or eating quarters.
