In addition to attending weekly concerts, plays, and visiting galleries and museums, students will embrace social and economic questions related to the arts through classes, lectures and group discussions. Binding us together will be a consideration of how the arts reflect our conditions (past and present), including aspects of political and economic environments, and issues of corporate, private and government sponsorship.

London and Beyond - Ahh! Look, I’m doing it! Another pooost! The end of the program and packing and moving made life very busy. I have been on the road in the UK (England specifically) for almost two weeks! I’m traveling by train, bus, and foot and I aim to hit a variety of significant places and build on […]
Adventures at Brick Lane - It is now almost the end of the program and after almost four months here I still hadn’t gone to Brick Lane. How is that possible. Well, after a hectic week of presentations and papers, I finally went there Sunday and man do I wish I had gone earlier, because Brick Lane is amazing. When […]
Harry Potter Studios - On March 13th (almost a month ago which is craaazzzyy!) Kyrie, Sarah, Fiona, and I all went to the Harry Potter Studios! It was about an hour away from South Ken, and we got there with about 3 hours to roam around. you start the tour by watching a video about the studios and then a […]
Tower of London! - Today Kyrie, Emma, and I all went to the Tower of London at the bright and early time of 11:00 am (it felt particularly early due to the lack of sleep I had experienced, but really this is a normal human time to be awake). We’ve been wanting to do this the entire time we’ve […]
Reflections: In the Big City - The semester is – incredibly – almost over, but I suppose I can take a look back to the beginning and my first thoughts. Initially, I was a bit surprised at the extent to which London is so fully globalized. Classical English literature and history (with not a few flairs of Romanticism) did little to […]
Bath, Stonehenge - You might not be able to get that close to it they said. It might not be that impressive they said. Somehow, the distance was perfect And I wouldn’t even have felt comfortable walking among such hallowed ruins. Bath itself was a welcome break from the sprawling metropolis that is London. Walking up a long […]
Q&A: The London Program - This is from a post from my blog, okayzoeyk, answering questions my followers had about the program when it was halfway. Have you started talking with a British accent? Haha no I have not! I think I’ve started picking up some of the lingo though but nooo no accent. What words do you find especially […]
Field trip to Scotland - A couple weekends ago we went on a field trip down to Edinburgh and Glasgow. While making our way up there, some of us stopped in a town called Durham. It was gorgeous. Everyone should visit this small beautiful town. Eventually we made our way to Glasgow where we stayed in a adorable hostel with a smirking superman painting on our […]
History was made in the life of me - Taken from a post from my blog: okayzoeyk.com I know this is a bold title, and after you’re done reading it you may be like “Wow really Zoey seriously? A painting?” but if you know me, than you know this is no ordinary painting. This is the Arnolfini Double Portrait by Jan van Eyck from […]
