This program aims to provide students with a broad interdisciplinary introduction to the history, language, and culture of China. Through immersion in Chinese society, students will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about many aspects of Chinese culture, and do in-depth research on significant issues in contemporary Chinese society, ranging from education, economics, politics and labor migration to family values, gender roles and people’s sense of well-being.
The program will be located in Jinan, capital city of Shandong Province. Students will travel to locations in Jinan and out of the city as part of the program. There will be weekend and day trips to supplement and enrich each course in the program. A final segment of the program will be three days in Beijing. Here is more information.
