Summary
GIS is a powerful tool for observing tabular data in a spatial format. This was the topic for this week’s lab: using ArcGIS software to compare different a vast number of variables. For example, we chose to compare the healthy average life expectancy against PCTAO (percent change in total agricultural output) of all countries that had data regarding the two variables. The goal of this lab was to familiarize oneself with the user interface of ArcGIS and to view real world data in a spatial form. I deeply enjoyed this lab, for I had wanted to get into GIS work for quite some time.
