As I read further into related literature regarding salmon conservation, I am realizing just how important it is to achieve true salmon conservation through international cooperation. According to this post by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, international cooperation and collaboration is critical to the Atlantic Salmon’s recovery because the life history of the species includes areas within and beyond international boundaries.
I am also finding that, as predicted, there is much more research regarding my topic than I can read, so I may begin to make adjustments where necessary to keep the sub-topics related.
This 2012 study conducted in Norway finds an extremely relevant trend of Atlantic Salmon remaining at sea for longer periods of time in response to rising sea level temperatures and food web changes.
