Blogs are (apparently) the way of the future

April 21, 2015 By Kelsey Kahn Leave a Comment

It’s funny that I would be excited about being asked to write a blog post because all I do is write blog posts, but I am!

Here’s what happened:

At Festival of Scholars last Friday I, along with every other senior environmental studies major and a bunch of other researchers, presented posters at a two hour long poster session. I never realized how exhausting and exhilarating it could be to spend two hours speaking about something you’ve spent essentially 3 years working on. I also didn’t really think anyone would be interested, but they were!

An LC student who heard me speak emailed me later that day and told me that her mother is an Environmental Dispute Negotiator, a field that I am really interested in, at the University of Utah Law School. After hearing about my thesis research her mother was really interested to read my final paper and asked if I would contribute a blog post to the Law School’s blog.

Problem: I’m not exactly sure what to write about. Sure, I’ll write about my thesis but I only have 500-800 words. What should I focus on? What would be most intriguing?

I’m stilling trying to figure it out but I don’t have a hard deadline so I’ve got some time.

Blogs, blogs, blogs. Everyone has a blog.
