We would like to invite you to the first Mellon Fall Poster Session this Tuesday, September 16, from 4:30–6:00 in the library atrium.
This event showcases the collaborative faculty-student research conducted this summer, all of which was funded by the Mellon Foundation Grant in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences. All recipients of these grants have produced research posters and will be in attendance to discuss their work. A small sampling of some of the research:
– excavating the Villa con Criptoportici (an archeological dig in Cottanello, Italy near Rome)
– conducting oral interviews and compiling research materials on immigrant Russian populations in Oregon
– producing a new translation of Chekhov’s “Three Sisters” and staging a production of the play
– creating an agent-based simulation model to produce new estimates of social mobility for the medieval English peasantry
….. and these are just a few of the more than a dozen posters that will be on display.
The event will feature a reception and a chance for participating students to receive one of two $50 Powell’s Gift Cards.
Please join us as we celebrate the exciting work of our students and their faculty collaborators.
