You will share information about yourself with current and future ENVS students/faculty/staff via your student record, which in stored in a login-restricted manner on this site. As the diagram below shows, your student record is tied in with other records you’ll make for your scholarly projects, your concentration or area of interest, and your senior capstone.
Here’s how to complete your student record:
- It’s helpful if you first get yourself a scholarly site on the DS multisite, as you’ll be entering the site URL below.
- On the ENVS site dashboard, select Student Records > Add New.
- Enter the following information:
- Your first and last name (e.g., Ima Student) in the title field.
- In the fields below, enter your last name again (this time to help people search for you) ad your Lewis & Clark email address. Then enter a link to the home page of your DS site.
- Check your profile to make sure you have an avatar and bio; both will show in your student record. See here for profile help if needed.
- You’ll then indicate your status as an ENVS major or minor, and if applicable you’ll enter another major or minor. If you’re an ENVS major, you’ll enter the name of your ENVS faculty advisor.
- Finally, you’ll enter your expected graduation date. Don’t worry about the specific day; it will only display month and year, so feel free to enter the first day of your graduation month.
- Now, you can publish your student record. Once you’ve done so, you’ll see information from other records toward the bottom, under “Post Relationship.” Here you can use the “Project Teams” section to link to any projects with which you’re associated! Click “Add New Project Team” for multiple projects. (You’ll connect your concentration and capstone to your student record from those records, not here.)
- Make sure to return to your student record frequently to make sure it is up to date:
- Have your ENVS status or expected graduation date changed?
- Have you been working on any other projects?
- During your senior year (for ENVS majors; these will appear if your graduation date is 10 months or less from now), you’ll also verify that all your records on and connect to this ENVS site are in order. You’ll do this by verifying that each is final, and by providing a link to the record:
- This student record
- Your concentration record
- Your capstone record
- Your capstone *project* record (i.e., the project record for your capstone…make sure it’s geotagged!)
- Your capstone project portfolio (i.e., the page on your DS site for your capstone project)
Feel free to contact ENVS if questions.
