My name is Sam Shugart and I am a senior IA major. This summer I had the wonderful opportunity to research renewable energy financing in Myanmar. I have continued work since then on one aspect of my research, however there are several more fantastic opportunities for research or development work in regards to renewable energy, ENVS impact surveys, and social entrepreneurship. In particular, there is one project involving micro-hydro development and working with a social entrepreneurship NGO in Myanmar that I think would be well suited to L&C/Portland’s assets. Myanmar is a very interesting country and is currently at a critical point in its development as it opens up to outside investment.
