Student position available
Lewis & Clark’s Sustainability Council is seeking assistance in researching the viability of a multi-disciplinary course on sustainability to be offered to CAS, law, and graduate students from all three campuses of Lewis & Clark and also to visiting students from other schools. The student will assist in developing and administering a survey to people who may be interested in the class, developing marketing materials and outreach strategies for the class, and communicating with relevant departments at other colleges and professional organizations that could be useful in recruiting participants for the class. Other tasks will include helping to determine the best timing for offering the course, e.g., summer, winterim or other time period, researching similar course offerings at other schools, and working with involved faculty on course development.
This position is open to law, graduate and CAS students. The position is funded for a total of 60 hours at $12/hour and the work is expected to be done between February and May, although a longer period may be considered depending on status of the project. Background in environmental or sustainability issues a plus, but not required. Student must have strong organizational and communication skills as well as strong computer skills.
