OREGON CHAPTER OF AWMA: STUDENT ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGE!!!!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Who: The Oregon Chapter of the Pacific Northwest International Section (PNWIS) of the Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA)
What: Student Challenge: This challenge is meant to showcase local college student’s environmental research. All environmentally themed projects are welcome from both undergraduate and graduate programs. The challenge will be for the student to present their projects clearly and consistently within a 10 minute time frame and be able to intelligently and enthusiastically engage in a 5 minute round of question and answers in from of a panel of environmental professionals.
This is a competition and there will be prizes;
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $400
3rd Place: $300
4th Place: $200
5th Place: $100
Other incentives currently in the works.
Why: This is an opportunity for students to network with professionals (and potential employers). This is also an opportunity for professionals to see the new and groundbreaking work that the next generation of environmental trail blazers are up to.
Where: World Trade Center: Flags Room
When: Saturday April 25, 2015 at 9AM
All interested students should submit an abstract by April 1, 2015. All abstracts need to be limited to 150 words, and include your name, affiliated university, department, and advisor. Those interested in submitting their resumes, a resume packet will be put together for distribution to attending professionals.
