The Spring educational season at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge in Ridgefield, WA, is almost here, and we are looking for volunteers to help with school group education and staffing the Plankhouse on the weekends.
Volunteer Educators Wanted at Ridgefield NWR!
Educators work with visiting school groups during the week taking them out on the trails or into the Plankhouse while sharing the natural and cultural history of the Refuge. Education volunteer training will be held on three consecutive Fridays in April: April 10, 17, 24, from 10am-3pm. The days will follow the themes of Landscapes, Wildlife, and Interpretation skills. Volunteers are wanted to work on the weekends in the Plankhouse. Plankhouse docents act as guides in the house, sharing the archaeological and cultural legacy of Chinookan Peoples with visitors. No initial experience necessary, we provide training and ongoing volunteer support. Plankhouse docent training is April 4th from 10am -3pm at the Ridgefield NWR. Education and Outreach Interns Wanted at Ridgefield NWR
We are now accepting applications for our education and outreach internship. Refuge interns lead school groups during the week, represent the Refuge and the Friends at community outreach events, and work on special projects. This internship begins April 1st, and has a flexible end date.
