The Dallaire Scholarship Committee announces the showing of Sometimes in April as this year’s Rwandan Remembrance Event at Lewis & Clark. Sometimes in April is a historical drama, originally shown on HBO, about the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. The film depicts the attitudes and circumstances leading up to the outbreak of brutal violence, the intertwining stories of people struggling to survive the genocide and the aftermath as the people try to find justice and reconciliation.
At the conclusion of the movie, the current Dallaire Scholar, Pascaline Umulisa, will give remarks on the movie, her personal experiences, and post-genocide events in Rwanda. Please see her piece in the current online issue of the PioLog.
