Are you interested in climate change and climate change solutions? Would you like to gain insight into the political process of setting emissions reductions goals and implementing actions to reach those goals? A national event will occur on Tuesday, Apr 5th from noon – 3:30pm in Salem OR to bring college students and faculty into dialogue with experts on the clean power plan and federal, state, and local policy. Further information can be found here:
I will be offering my Oceanography class an excused absence from lab to facilitate attendance at this event. If you have class, check with your professors if you are interested in attending: they may be accommodating! This is an excellent opportunity to GET OUT OF THE CLASSROOM and GET ENGAGED in local, relevant issues.
Please reply to jkleiss@lclark.edu if you are interested in attending and would like to set up a carpool to Salem to attend. There are also weekly webinars to help inform and educate prior to this civic engagement event, so we all can get more out of it.
