1000 Friends of Oregon has been honored to support students on their educational journey in planning, public policy, or similar fields through the Gerhardt Internship. Established in 1986 to commemorate the life and work of 1000 Friends’ first planner, Paul Gerhardt, Jr., this internship provides an opportunity for on-the-job experience for students passionate about public service.
Become an instrumental part of 1000 Friends of Oregon’s research and reporting. Previous Gerhardt Interns have been lead researchers for published reports such as More Extensive is More Expensive and Great and Growing: People and Jobs in Oregon’s Agri-Cluster.
