Dear ENVS,
The Teton Science Schools Graduate Program in Environmental Education is currently accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year.
Teton Science Schools (TSS) is an educational non-profit in Jackson, WY, with branches of the organization that include field education, wildlife expeditions, a teacher learning center, multiple private schools, and the graduate program. Each of these branches works to further the TSS mission of inspiring curiosity, engagement, and leadership through transformative place-based education.
The graduate program is focused on place-based education and outdoor teaching. It combines classes on environmental science, education, and outdoor leadership with field teaching practicums and opportunities to instruct for the field program of TSS as well as at the Journey’s School, a private K-12 school in Jackson. Graduates of the program can earn up to 32 transferable graduate credits, which can be applied at a number of partner universities towards master’s degrees in either education or environmental science.
As a bonus, you get to live and play in Grand Teton National Park on the glorious Kelly Campus, close to endless opportunities for mountain biking, skiing, rafting, fishing, hiking, and climbing.
If you can feel the mountains calling and want to spend a year learning about outdoor education and living in one of the crown jewels of the national park system, you should apply for the 2017-18 school year with the Teton Science Schools’ graduate program! Please contact Tracy Logan at tracy.logan@tetonscience.org or at 307-732-7760 for more information; we would love to hear from you.
