Portland State University’s Institute for Economics and the Environment invites you to attend the Environment, Economics and You Speaker Series. Dr.Matthew Kotchen, Professor of Economics and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Yale School of Forestry, will be speaking on Wednesday April 26 5:30 – 7:00 PM in the Native American Student and Community Center at Portland State University. Dr. Kotchen’s lecture will also be the annual Department of Economics Harold Goodhue Vatter Memorial Lecture.
The topic of Matthew Kotchen’s presentation will be The Political Economy of Climate Change. Dr. Kotchen is particularly qualified to discuss this topic having for many years conducted research on energy, climate change and green markets. He also served on the Science Advisory Board of the USEPA, as Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary for Environment and Energy and worked on President Barack Obama’s Climate Action Plan.
