Hello ENVS,
I hope you’re doing well and are off to a great summer!
Since graduating I’ve kept in contact with a wonderful L&C alumni (Tina Buetell) who has a 67-acre, environmental education land trust called Mahonia in Clackamas County. Tina and the rest of her team and board at the land trust want to get more young people involved in the land trust so that it can be accessed by a broader community. The land trust currently doesn’t have many programs running, but it’s a great opportunity for environmental education, farming/agriculture/permacultu
Particularly, Tina and the Mahonia team are looking for people interested in making the land more accessible for wider uses by helping to plan and construct a composting privy! May sound like a funny project, but additional utilities would enable more people to be present and comfortable in the space, and would also serve as a great example of how sustainable waste management can work.
I’m attaching more details about the project vision.
