The Sandy River Basin Watershed Council is seeking a Diverse Engagement Intern.

Position Summary:
Help us connect people to the watershed by recruiting volunteers for
plantings, cleanups, and other events. The intention of this position is to
increase the Council’s capacity to engage the diversity of populations who
live in, near, and visit the watershed. The Diverse Engagement Intern will
support spring events including winter plantings and events on the MHCC
campus such as invasive plant removal, Earth Day Cleanup, Sandy River Delta
Ecoblitz, and a Depave event to kick-off the MHCC Clean Water Retrofit in
June. At least two of these events (the Delta Planting and EcoBlitz) will
be bilingual in English and Spanish. Depending on the candidate, the
intern may support existing partnerships and build new ones to increase
diverse recruitment and improve cultural relevance of events. Flexible

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with staff to develop a diverse outreach strategy
· Connect with existing and potential partners to broaden outreach
effort
· Promote events via flyers, social media, online calendars, and other
marketing strategies
· Attend events and support event implementation
· Lead groups in planting, trash pick up, ivy removal, etc. at events
(depending on comfort level)
· Communicate schedule and activities with staff
· Other tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
