Applications are now open!
While traditional gap years are taken after High School and before entering College, FOCUS will be accepting applications from young people between the ages of 17-22 to take a climate gap year with us. Early applications close March 31, final applications close May 15.
This means that if a young person is already in college and they want to take a climate gap year with us, they can. Young people from any country in the world can apply, however, to access federal financial aid from the US government, they will need to be a US citizen. Not to worry though. If an applicant isn’t a US citizen and is looking for financial aid, please check out the credit + financial aid page on our site to learn more about options.
We are thrilled to announce that two partners have recently come on board:
- Pattern Energy will be providing scholarships for participants interested in the Chile program.
- MPowerd will be offering their amazing solar-powered lights to ALL applicants who get accepted into the program.
When students apply, they will need to select which country they are most interested in traveling to for the climate gap year: China, Chile, Argentina and India. Learn more about the unique climate stories of each country here that participants will get to experience on their climate gap year.
And in case you missed our first email announcing the launch of FOCUS Climate Gap Year on Jan 31, here’s a little blog post with more info.
