This project starts with a broad question, "In what ways do land use policies affecting forests equitably balance interests?," and then focuses on a specific biodiversity hotspot where our focus question, "What needs are met by land management policies affecting forests in Southwest Australia?," examines influences and effects in a more concentrated region. This study includes an array of qualitative and quantitative tools used to examine interrelated local processes. We find that policies are impacted by historical actors, current political movements, increasing pressure from environmental concerns, and the ongoing effects of a changing climate.
