In my capstone, I would like to assess the impact that climate change may have on trout populations in Western Montana. These impacts may range from changing water temperatures that can 1) affect spawning habits, and 2) welcome invasive species that can be detrimental to trout. Then, I will attempt to look at how these fluctuations in trout populations will affect 1) freshwater aquatic ecosystems as a whole, and 2) socio-economic processes in the region. My main methodology includes conducting a large amount of background research in order to answer these questions, and I also plan on finding data or future projections that supports the background research I will find. Lastly, I would like to reveal the larger implications of these findings, and attempt to determine how applicable these findings are worldwide.
