As the environmentalist movement progresses in our globalized world, division frequently arises between groups or individuals who have common big-picture goals but come into conflict at lower decision-making levels. I believe this can inhibit growth, progress, and creativity as well as decrease the collective power of environmentally conscious individuals who want to manage land and natural resources most effectively. Conducting this series of interviews was the beginning of my attempt to further understand peoples perceptions and motivations, as well as separate figures from the stereotypes and assumptions that are often held against them. I wanted to explore how stakeholders in land management on many different levels and with many different backgrounds worked towards achieving their goals and worked in relation to other stakeholders in land management. I think if this is better understood on many different levels, opportunities will open up for stakeholders in land management to communicate and work with one another. Hopefully, a stronger and more united front may be created to stop ecosystem and natural resource degradation.
