This project attempts to assess the roles played by macroinvertebrate species in the Tryon Creek watershed. As a treasured State Park, visitors to the creek deserve to be met with clean, clear, and biodiverse waters. The presence of certain macroinvertebrates can play a huge role in elucidating these somewhat unclear or normative notions. My ultimate goal is to create a booklet, geared towards volunteers, that will detail some of my results and why these creatures are important to the neighborhood and the park.
