Framing: How can differing perspectives of knowledge be oppressive?
Focus: How have the differing sides of logging policies been affected by education and/or economic realities?
Douglas County and the logging community have been under financial strain due to legal battles with the government over logging and forest management. Much government environmental policies are developed from general public opinion of what environment/al means, such as forest conservation and the Endangered Species Act. Popular discourse of environmentalism is very different from that in Douglas County. This research is focused on economic and education data and the impacts of those realms on political power.
