How is nature "naturalized" in forms of pedagogy that center place as a way to blend critical and environmental educational traditions? How does place-based education (PBE) function in relation to neoliberalism and to what extent can PBE be a tool for pursuing radical changes toward social-environmental justice? This thesis considers what outcomes could arise when we interrogate binary categorizations of naturalness to work toward a notion of "multinaturalism" in how we teach and learn.
