I am analyzing how UNESCO's World Heritage Sites facilitate the preservation of iconic landscapes. Mt. Fuji and Siena, Italy are the primary sites I will investigate to determine how WHS status affects the usage and regulations of the landscape. I will also analyze the effectiveness of WHS's on maintaining the cultural and/ or physical significance of the landscape.
